The Ridge and Valley region is an area in Georgia with low open valleys and high ridges that are parallel to each other and is mostly known for its carpeting and textile manufacturing. With an elevation of 700-1600 feet, the Ride and Valley is composed of north-northeasterly ridges and fertile valleys that separate it. If you visit one of those fertile valleys in the region, you may find some apple farms or orchards there that you may find to your liking. The topography of this beautiful land was formed because of the erosion and faulted rocks that worked over and over again for some time now. The city of Dalton is located here. Dalton is known as the "Carpet Capital of the World" because it produces more carpets than any other state in our country, possibly even the world!!! Gilmer County is Georgia's apple capital. So there are a lot famous locations in the Ridge and Valley.
